Simple Tips for Better Nutrition.
1. Don't overeat. Only eat until you are about 60% full.
2. Don't overcook your food. Steaming is best, followed by poaching and then stir frying. Microwaving destroys the nutritional value of foods and releases free radicals.
3. Don't eat within an hour of getting out of bed in the morning. Your metabolism is sluggish when you first wake and not ready to cope with food.
4. Remove or reduce the amount of refined or processed foods from your diet.
These foods are usually devoid of nutritional value and in many cases are anti nutrients, borrowing from you and not providing.
5. Don't eat red meat more than three times each week.
6. Reduce fried and fatty foods.
7. Increase your intake of vegetables and fruits. These should constitute about 60% of your diet.
8. Reduce your intake of dairy products.
9. Eat small, regular meals, rather than irregular and big meals.
10. Snack on raw nuts and seeds.
11. Reduce your intake of refined sugar and products with added sugar.
12. Drink at least 2 litres of water each day. (Preferably filtered.) This does not include coffee and tea.
13. Take good quality Gel-Supplements. Using gel technology, the nutrients are highly bioavailable.
Don't make wholesale changes to your diet. You will find them impossible to stick to. Introduce one change at a time. Don't try to be perfect. It's what you do 90% of the time that matters, not the other 10%. Exercise each day and learn to meditate.
All of the preceding is general information and not intended to diagnose illness. Always consult your health professional, if you are undergoing treatment or on medication, before adopting changes to your lifestyle.
